  • BSPCA - art4all exhibition a great success

    Finally after shows in Panjim and Ahmedabad, the art4all group of three artists had its first art exhibition in Mumbai at the Bajaj Art Gallery, Nariman Point, Mumbai from 5th to 11th Oct.

    There were around 70 people present for the inauguration. The Fund Raising Committee of the BSPCA was there in full support. The inauguration was simple – no speeches, just lighting of a lamp by three dignitaries –

    1.   Mrs. Piloo Soonawala, Chairperson Fund Raising Committee of the Bombay Society for Prevention of
    Cruelty to Animals (with whom Sunil S Mehta has been associated for nearly a decade and to whom,
    we were giving a percentage of our sales)

    2.  Mr. Pramit Jhaveri – CEO and Country Head of Citibank India

    3.  A person who was a surprise to all present – Chotu – the humble man who does all the framing of
    Sunil ’s paintings. It is his workmanship and his goodness as a human being which we wished to
    acknowledge publicly as he is a maestro and never grumbles, does his work quietly and with great

    Throughout the week, there were  many walk in visitors and the artists converted them to buying a work in aid of a good cause. They sold 26 paintings ranging in price from   Rs 2,000 to Rs 20,000 out of a total 53 paintings; raising Rs 35,550 for the BSPCA – the cheques were handed over to Col J C Khanna (Retd), Secretary of the BSPCA.

    We had the BSPCA standee on display and distributed the BSPCA leaflets to all visitors.
